Valve has released a preview of their box art for their upcoming Survival Horror game, Left 4 Dead.
Click picture for full-size.
GAME INFO:
Left 4 Dead is played in first person perspective, with full visualization of the player character’s body. Up to four players take control of the four main characters of the game, “The Survivors”, who play through the levels fighting off the Infected, which are humans who have been infected with a mutated form of rabies. Survivors can also be AI-controlled bots. Left 4 Dead is focused on cooperation and teamplay for players of the Survivors. Colored outlines that are visible through walls help players stick together and coordinate their movement. Survivors can be knocked down by Infected and can only get up again with the help of a friend. Certain special attacks also require assistance to get out of. Survivors can share health packs and help each other heal. However, Left 4 Dead has full friendly fire that can’t be switched off, but the damage caused is less for already injured Survivors.
Major Nelson has announced that this Wednesday’s (July 23rd) Arcade games are going to be Go! Go! Break Steady and 1942: Joint Strike.
Go! Go! Break Steady Game Info-
Take on DJ Scruffy and the Beatniks in this combination rhythm and puzzle game. Featuring original gameplay, a unique visual style, and six amazing characters break dancing to 20 finger-tapping songs, Go! Go! Break Steady is the ultimate hybrid of two popular and challenging genres. Will Hydro and his “All City Crew” become the Break Steady Tournament Champs and take home the most prizes? The answer depends on your own rhythm and smarts. Play it solo, team up with your friends, or play online to see who has the real Break Steady “skillz!”

This game will be available in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for only 800 Microsoft Points.
1942: Joint Strike Game Info-
In a parallel world reminiscent of our own WW II era, pilots take to the skies with stylized aircraft carriers and devastating weaponry. Inspired by the popular eighties arcade series, 1942: Joint Strike combines classic top-down vertical shooting with updated 3-D HD graphics.

This game will also cost 800 MS Points.
Gottaplay is a video game renting service that allows customers to rent games from the next-gen consoles and older consoles such as the Xbox, Gamecube and Gamebody Advance.
When I first became a customer at Gottaplay in June 2007, I was very pleased. Most of the games I wanted were Available, and they lived up to their 3 day shipping time. Gottaplay was also cheaper than GameFly. Gottaplay had 9 shipping centers and also provided tracking for their shipments!
You might be saying “Gottaplay sounds good!” now. They might of been good when they first started until late 2007.

As the months went by, Gottaplay started going downhill. Their phone support was taken down and the only way to get support was by sending them an e-mail and getting a non-helpful reply 2 weeks later. More weeks and months went by, and Gottaplay went more downhill. Their 9 shipping centers became 5, with only 1 in the Westside. Most of their next-gen console games became out of stock. I would go to find a game and it would always say Short Wait or Long Wait, and I had to settle for old games like NHL2K6.
Then the real kicker came in and the sign of Gottaplay’s failure was showing. All the newest games were added into their catalogue, sounds awesome right, except all them were Long Wait, and when you go to Members Renting This Game page, it would not list anyone. They added games into their list when they didn’t even have the game. When you finally find a game that is Available, the send it to you, but their tracking system they “supposedly” have doesn’t work. I receive the game in 1 week+ (yes, their shipping duration takes longer) and their tracking would say the game was in Atlanta or Washington or whereever their shipping center is when it is right in my house.
To summarize, you can pay $13 a month and get to rent old, crappy games that no one wants (hence their availability) and wait a week or more (I’ve had to wait 3 weeks one time for my game to arrive)…
PROS:
- Cheap plans. Cheaper than GameFly.
- Has 4 shipping centers in the East Coast.
CONS
- No games are available.
- Don’t have new games.
- Bad and slow support.
